What matters to Wegman is the look in the dog's eyes. He didn't spot that look this year, and he wasn't at all surprised. Fay has a "deep beauty," he said, which reminds him of Catherine Deneuve, while Battina, Fay and Arco's winsome daughter, is "like a Lolita." He went on, "I can work with imperfection and charm," but the dogs, in competition didn't possess much of either for him. "They're basically like beauty queens at a beauty pageant."
